Moose and Fiddle Cancelled

By Randy Thoms Aug 4, 2022 | 10:27 AM

The Moose and Fiddle Music Festival at Caliper Lake Provincial Park has been cancelled.

It was supposed to take place on August 26-27.

Extensive storm damage to the park last month has kept the facility closed since.

Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls township council decided to pull the plug on the festival this week.

A release from organizers says they “acted out of an abundance of concern for the community of Nestor Falls and the people and businesses who are still reeling from the devastation of the storm.”

Organizers are now in the process of issuing ticket refunds and reimbursing musicians, artisans and crafters for any expenses they may have incurred in planning for the festival.

All tickets purchased online will be refunded through Eventbrite beginning August 7.

Anyone who purchased tickets at select locations like the Nestor Falls Travel Centre, Northern Ontario Sport Fishing Centre in Sioux Narrows or Caliper Lake Provincial Park can obtain their refunds by emailing info@snnf.ca with the words Refund Requested for the Moose n’ Fiddle in the subject line.

Plans are in the works to stage the festival next year.
