Bay Ferries is out with their monthly report for July on activity aboard the CAT.

As of August 1st the Nova Scotia-Maine ferry service has sold tickets for 28,538 passengers who will travel on the ferry this season.

Bay Ferries says they have transported 15,620 passengers and 6,462 vehicles as of August 1st.

They say the July totals represent about 63% of traffic to date, with 10,051 passengers.

However, Bay Ferries says August has always been stronger than July and estimate the CAT will carry 13,000-16,000 passengers this month.

They say the majority of their customers are booking and travelling within a 2-3 week advance window.

At the start of the month the CAT had completed 55 round trips with 2 round trip weather cancellations.
