No new COVID-19 deaths to report in Nova Scotia.

The province is out with its weekly data on the pandemic, which shows no one passed away in the seven-day period ending on August 1st.

This is the first time in months that there have been no new deaths to report.

Hospitalizations are down with 54 new admissions compared to 60 in the previous week. There were 1,683 new lab-confirmed cases of the virus.

That’s a drop when compared to the more than 1,900 in the last report.

In July the province changed its PCR testing strategy. Only those with symptoms or deemed high risk have access to that testing now.

You also can’t confirm a positive on a rapid test with a PCR test.
