Digby Scallop Days Festival Starts This Week

Get ready to celebrate the scallop, the Digby Scallop Days festival starts this week.

It’ll be three days of celebrating scallops, the scallop fishing industry and the people who brave the seas to harvest them.

The Queen Coronation kicks off the festival on Thursday with events to follow the next three days including a pet fashion show, a fun run, grand street parade, and a lots of scallops to shuck.

Opening Ceremonies will be Friday night at 6:45 p.m. in Digby Center.

Other events include a Woodsmen Competition, a Pirates Dinner Theatre event and the Scallop Days Car Show.

There will be vendors all day everyday at Admiral’s Walk, fireworks every night and a slow pitch ball tournament all weekend with the Scallop Days BBQ happening throughout each day.

The festival ends with closing ceremonies at 8:45 on Sunday, followed by a grand finale fireworks show.
