An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared over at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.

It was first declared on the hospital’s second floor on July 11 before being extended to the first floor a week last.

The outbreak was declared over on Saturday.

Screening practices and certain visitation rules still continue.

This includes a ban on children under five from visiting.

Patients are permitted two visitors at one time, including caregivers.

Also still being followed are;
• COVID-19 screening continues for everyone who enters
• Use a face mask to cover your mouth and nose at all times when visiting indoors.
• Visitors must not remove their masks to consume food or drink while visiting at this time
• Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently
• If you are unwell, please do not visit the hospital

If you have COVID, have been in contact with anyone testing positive for the virus recently, or have been asked to isolate, do not visit the hospital for at least ten days.
