J-Strong Softball Tournament Raises Over $17,000

The J-Strong Softball Tournament raised $17,600 over the weekend.

Over 20 teams took part at the Hebron Recreation Complex.

The money raised will go to the J-Strong Foundation, to help youth in Yarmouth County access sport.

Organizer Steve Berry says it felt like old times again.

“It’s nice to re-up our pot. We hadn’t had a lot of money coming in through fundraisers the past few years due to COVID. It’s great to have that community support back again,” says Berry.

The tournament is held in memory of Jadon Robinson, a local football player who’s love for sport and community always shined.

Berry says it means a lot to the family.

“One of the things that was said by his family, is how great it was to hear his name said so often during the weekend.”

Berry says J-Strong will host a golf tournament at Yarmouth Links on August 11th.
