LJHL Season Opens October 6th

The Lakehead Junior Hockey League (LJHL) has released its 2022-2023 regular season schedule.

The five teams will play 24 games with the season opener at the Tournament Centre on Thursday, October 6th with the expansion Current River Storm skating with the Thunder Bay Northern Hawks.

The newest franchise will raise the curtain in front of their home fans on Friday, October 7th against the Hawks.

The Nipigon Elks home opener will be the same night against the defending league champion Thunder Bay Bandits.

The Bandits open their home calendar on Thursday, October 13th against the Schreiber Falcons.

The Falcons will be the last team to begin their home sked, on Saturday, October 22nd against the Elks.

League President Josh Gribben told Acadia News Thursday that there are plans to hold a Showcase Event in December, though the location and dates are still under consideration.
