Penhorn Lake Beach has been closed to swimming.
The municipality announced on Wednesday the beach has been shut down due to high bacteria levels in the water.
Recent test results show the levels exceed Health Canada swimming guidelines.
Municipal staff regularly test the water quality at all supervised municipal beaches during the summer months.
High bacteria levels can be caused by many factors, including dogs, birds, wildlife, and high temperatures.
Staff will continue testing the water and will let us know when it’s safe to head back there for a dip.
