Two Canadian potato companies have been named in a pair of lawsuits stateside.
McCain Foods and Cavendish Farms are among four companies named in the suits.
The so-called “potato cartel” is accused of colluding with one another to price-fix frozen potato products.
U.S.-based companies Lamb Weston and J.R. Simplot are also alleged to be part of the scheme.
The four companies together reportedly control up to 98 per cent of the U.S. frozen potato products market.
