The deaths of two people in Yarmouth were the result of a murder-suicide.

RCMP say a 49-year-old woman was killed by a man known to her at a residence on Placid Court last Friday.

The 58-year-old man then died of self-inflicted wounds.

Police call it an incident of ‘intimate partner violence.’

They say the ongoing investigation is being led by the Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit with help from several other agencies.

This is the third murder-suicide in Nova Scotia in as many weeks.
