A 24-year-old Bathurst woman has died after a car and a truck collided head-on near Miramichi.

The crash happened on Route 8 in the community of Bartibog around 1:50 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators believe a northbound car crossed the centre line and hit the southbound truck.

The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene from her injuries, according to police.

RCMP said the driver and passengers of the truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman’s exact cause of death.
