Popular Rainy River event moves indoors

There is a new location for this year’s Rainy River Trail of Terror.

The popular Hallowe’en-themed attraction will move indoors to the Rainy River Rec Centre.

It has been running for the past five years, but the venue used was not available this year.

Spokesperson Shannon Hagerty says the rec centre does provide the ability to expand the trail and offer some new experiences.

“We are using the whole thing, upstairs, downstairs, ice surface, you name it, it’s used in there,” says Hagarty.

“There’s some spots in the trail or the maze, whatever you want to call it, indoors that actually makes you feel like you’re outdoors as well. So you’re going to have all the same jump scares, maybe even more than you did outside.”

Hagarty says they have between 30 and 40 volunteers involved.

The event is a fundraiser for the rec centre.

It is working toward installing a new ice plant.

A hard scare will take place Thursday and Friday, with a soft scare for the kids, happening during their Hallowe’en party on October 25th.

Bookings are made online through the Trail of Terror’s website.
