The Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre has moved forward with the second phase of its re-opening.

On Tuesday the facility opened the following areas:

• Weight room
• Gymnasium
• Cardio Room
• Squash Court
• Walking Track

“While we are thrilled to welcome the community back to these areas, please note that the men’s changeroom, sauna and long-term lockers will remain closed at this time,” said Sioux Lookout in a release. “These areas are expected to reopen soon, and we will provide updates as they become available.”

The facility initially closed in June for some renovations that included new flooring, paint, and door access controllers.

New equipment was also purchased for the facility including a few new treadmills, a leg press and extension machine and more.

The facility was scheduled to be opened in August but construction was delayed due to issues with contractors and suppliers.
