If you need to fill up your gas tank, it will hit you harder in the wallet than last week.

The maximum for regular self-serve spiked seven cents a litre overnight to a maximum of $1.61.

This comes with the weekly price adjustments by the Energy and Utilities Board.

Those using furnace oil and diesel are paying even more.

Furnace oil is up 10.7 cents a litre to a maximum of $1.46 while diesel increased 11.1 cents with a maximum of $1.75.

In Nova Scotia, regular self-serve ranges from $1.57 to $1.61 per litre while diesel is selling for between $1.71 and $1.75 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the price for regular self-serve is around $1.63 per litre, diesel costs around $1.74 per litre, and home heating oil sells for a maximum of $1.18 per litre.
