An investigation by Thunder Bay’s city police has resulted in charges.

In June, the Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation after receiving information about a resident who was suspected of downloading child pornography.

Through the investigation, a warrant was executed at a home on Norah Street last month.

Earlier this month the suspect in the investigation turned themselves in to police and they were arrested.

As a result, a 26-year-old from Thunder Bay has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Accessing Child Pornography, and Distributing Child Pornography.

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
