An inmate from the Springhill Institution died on Friday after serving a sentence for 36 years.
John Daley was 61 years old when he died in custody, according to Correctional Service Canada.
He was in prison since March 11, 1988, but he was serving an “indeterminate sentence,” the service said.
His next of kin were notified.
Correctional Services says they will investigate the cause of death and has notified the police and the coroner.
