If you live in Dieppe, you’re being encouraged to sign up for the Municipal Emergency alert system.

It will make residents aware of issues including boil water advisories, weather events, evacuations, and road closures due to flooding or water main breaks.

Similar alert systems are currently available in Moncton and Riverview, but this is a first for Dieppe.

“The public is invited to sign up for alerts as soon as possible to get real-time information pertaining to their safety and that of their families,” says Dieppe Fire Chief and Emergency Measures Director Marc Cormier.

Residents can subscribe to receive notifications via email or text.

The city stresses this does not replace the Alert Ready system used by RCMP.
