After nearly a decade, one of the most followed on social media in Halifax, is stepping away.

Halifax Fire News, who has chosen to stay anonymous over the years, says in a post on X, although it has been a tremendously positive experience, he is tired and is taking a break from the keyboard.

Fire News says at this time he is unsure if the hiatus is permanent or temporary.

He adds he is “really, really, really looking forward to going hours or weeks or days or months without addressing, ‘what’s going on near so and so’, or the latest problem.”

He notes, there is nothing wrong personally but has simply decided to think about the future.

Halifax Fire News reported on fire and emergency news in Halifax since 2015 and has nearly 70,000 followers.
