Residents are going to have a new opportunity to provide the Thunder Bay Police Service with feedback and questions.

In the fall the police services is hosting a series called Chat with the Chief: Policing in our Community public events to share information and hear community input.

“It’s important for me to hear directly from people in the community about how they feel about their police service,” Thunder Bay Police Service Chief Darcy Fleury said. “I’m committed to strengthening trust in our police service, and open dialogue is a key part of that process.”

A second community engagement initiative called “Ask the Chief” is also being run this fall.

In short videos, Chief Fleury will answer common questions to build an understanding of police work.

An online survey is being launched to gather community input to help shape the sessions and video content.

Residents can choose any topic that they feel is important to be discussed and can provide specific questions.

The survey will be available through August and can be found here.

Questions for the Chief can also be submitted at any time to news@thunderbaypolice.ca

The dates and locations for the events will be announced at a later date.
