The Ontario Provincial Police Association has come to an agreement on a four-year deal for its members.

The union represents both uniformed officers and civilians.

Civilians voted 92.9 percent in favour, while 87.7 percent of uniformed officers approved the deal.

The agreement is retroactive to January 1st of 2023, and it’s amounts to a 14.75 percent increase over the life of the contract.

Officers are getting a 4.75 percent increase in the first year of the contract, 4.5 percent in the second and 2.75 percent in the third and fourth year.

The agreement makes the OPP the highest paid police service in all of Ontario.

The OPPA represents close to 10,000 members across the province.
