Town distributes $100 K in Moffat money

Eleven groups and organizations from the Fort Frances area are recipients of funding from the Moffat Family Fund.

Over $100 thousand was distributed.

The Kenora Rainy River District Child and Family Services uses $10,000 to deliver an after-school program.

The Rainy Lake Air Cadet Squadron 908 also received $10,000 to subsidize its program costs.

KidSport gets $4,500 to ensure youth in need have the ability to take part in organized sports.

Coming Together for Kids Healthy Living Food Box Subsidy Program receives $8,350 to provide healthy produce for families with children within area childcare centres and child and family service organizations.

The Fort Frances Community Garden has $7,300 for its Deliver the Kids Garden Club program and expand its garden on Lillie Avenue.

Confederation College received $6,750.33 to help reduce the costs of its summer youth camps.

The group overseeing the Eighth Street Trails has $9,000 to enhance the walkability of the trails, increase awareness and enhance existing trails and amenities.

The Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau was provided with $22,277.67 for renovations to its building.

Nutrition on Weekends obtains $13,740 to provide bags of nutritious, non-perishable foods each week to students identified having need during the school year.

The Rainy River District Community Policing Committee was given $4,500 to continue its Safe Halloween community event that includes safety information and glow lights for children.

The Salvation Army has $6,632.00, allowing 100 children aged 5-13 to attend a four-day Day camp this summer.
