Minister of National Defence Bill Blair is visiting the province’s capital.
He is scheduled to speak about Canada’s updated defence policy at a Halifax Chamber of Commerce event Thursday morning.
On Friday, Blair and Vice-Admiral Angus Topshee will be at the Irving Shipyard to launch construction on the new Canadian surface combatant fleet.
According to a release, it’s the largest shipbuilding initiative in Canada since the Second World War.
