Over 1,500 trees and plants will be planted along Lake Superior in the Pool 6 area.
The decision to plant is in efforts to restore the former construction site.
Volunteers and staff from the North Shore of Lake Superior Remedial Action Plans, the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority, and the City of Thunder Bay will all take part in the planting process.
They will plant roughly 100 trees and shrubs and 1,500 small plants, including native vegetation.
This will help to enhance the process of filtering stormwater runoff, improve vegetated areas that protect the water, and provide additional wetland features along the shoreline.
The planting day will begin at Pool 6 on Monday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
