A heavy police presence in Bedford after a traffic stop.
Police say it was around 9:20 a.m. Monday, when they stopped a car near the Bedford Highway and Meadowbrook Drive.
The driver ran away when they found a weapon.
Officers and police dogs are in the area searching for the driver.
He is described as a white man in his 40’s, 5’3 with short brown hair wearing a black shirt and black shorts.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
Officers, along with a K-9 Unit, are currently on scene searching the area for the driver. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020.
Police are asking the public to remain away from the area to allow officers to investigate.
