RCMP are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Highway 19 near Creignish in Inverness County early Saturday morning.

First responders were called around 1:30 a.m. to respond to a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision.

Investigators believe an orange 2018 Toyota Tacoma was travelling northbound on Hwy. 19 when it left the road and crashed.

The driver and only person in the Toyota, a 32-year-old Port Hawkesbury man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Hwy. 19 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
