A search warrant executed at a Fort Frances residence has resulted in a number of charges.
Ontario Provincial Police, working alongside the Treaty Three Police Service, entered the home on Palmcrest Drive just after 1:30 p.m. Friday where they took one person into custody and seized a collapsible baton, along with a number of homemade weapons.
Members of the OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Community Street Crime Unit, Kenora Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the Treaty Three Police Service Street Crime Unit were involved in the search and investigation.
The accused, a 41-year-old Fort Frances woman has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Four counts: Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
An OPP spokesperson says the failure to comply order applies to the homemade weapons seized.
She was held in custody until a court appearance yesterday.
