A deferral of the passage of the Dryden budget for another month.
There is a slight decrease in the latest edition in the tax rate increase for Dryden residents.
Treasurer Steven Lansdell-Roll says there are a couple of areas they saw savings.
“The KDSB (Kenora District Services Board) levy increase has been changed from 6% to 3.44%,” Lansdell-Roll told city council at the Monday night meeting.
“The capital project for the sewage treatment plant, air diffusers. The budget has been changed from $240,000 to $210,000.”
In the draft budget, the city had looked at a 6.57 percent increase, so overall, Lansdell-Roll says costs have gone down about $30,000.
“With all of these changes, a change to the tax increase goes from $999,000 to $970,000.”
The finance committee will look at the budget again next week and bring back a revised budget in January.
