The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has announced a new COVID-19 outbreak while declaring two over bringing the city’s total to eight.
The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is dealing with outbreaks in its oncology inpatient unit (1A), transitional care unit, and one of the medical inpatient units (2A), making up 3/8 active outbreaks.
The Walford and Chartwell’s Isabella Retirement Residences are dealing with facility-wide outbreaks.
The other active outbreaks are at Pioneer Ridge in Home Area 2, Hogarth Riverview Manor in 5 South – Orchid Resident Home Area and 5 North – Marigold Resident Home Area.
As of November 28, outbreaks at Southbridge Pinewood’s Blue Heron Unit and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s Surgical Inpatient Unit 3B were declared over.
There are restrictions on admissions, transfers, discharges, social activities, and visitation in the affected facilities until further notice.
