A new Alert system in Riverview will help keep residents informed.
Communication Manager Ashly Barron says it went live in the Town a few weeks ago, “We did a soft launch a few weeks ago at our Fire Prevention open house and had some residents sign up. With an increase in storms and severe weather events over the last couple of years, snow on Halloween is a good example. This new system allows us to notify residents to prepare for potential emergency situations.”
Barron says alerts come in several forms, whether you would like text messages, emails or if you would prefer to check the website.
“This new system allows you to do any of the above or all of the above, depending on how much you’d like to get those notifications. Residents can sign up at Riverviewalerts.ca. You’ll be able to pick your preferences between if you want emergency news or parking restrictions. Those are the two subscriptions you can choose from,” Barron says.
The Town has over 100 subscribers so far, but they anticipate many more.
