More arrests in St. Mary’s Bay for illegal lobster fishing.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans says 5 people were arrested and later released on October 18th.
They’re under investigation for unauthorized lobster fishing, possession of undersized lobster and female lobster with eggs attached.
A vessel was seized, along with 13 traps and 25 lobster crates with over 2,200 lobsters.
The crustaceans were released live back into the ocean.
The Department says they’ve seized over 1,000 traps in Southwest Nova Scotia this year.
