Thirty-one vehicles were towed and 108 tickets were issued during an RCMP traffic enforcement operation in Greater Moncton.
Members of the New Brunswick RCMP’s Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit (TTEU), Codiac Regional RCMP, Highway Safety Enforcement, and officers and vehicle inspectors from the Highway Safety Enforcement Branch of the Department of Justice and Public Safety worked together on October 20th.
They focussed on unsafe and modified vehicles as well as distracted driving and proper use of seatbelts.
Sixty-four vehicles were assessed with 26 of them deemed unsafe.
Twenty-nine tickets were issued for not wearing a seatbelt and 19 for using a hand-held electronic device while driving.
Three people were given a court date for driving while suspended, and one person was wanted on two warrants for his arrest.
