HRM is advising residents that there is a blue-green algae bloom at Birch Cove Beach in Dartmouth.
The city says there have also been reports of the toxins at Lake Banook as well as Russell Lake, both in Dartmouth.
The city is reminding to avoid contact with the water as these blooms are toxic.
