We could soon see what an expanded Mariners Centre will look like.
The Expansion Project Committee is reviewing concept designs from the architect, and will soon make a recommendation.
Nicole Albright, chair of the expansion board says they want to get the best bang for their buck.
“The driving factor is budget. We have to stay within it, post-COVID prices are not helping that, but we’re doing the best with what we have,” said Albright.
The project received 30-million dollars in funding from all levels of government last year.
Albright says the public will get to have a say.
“We’re still going to have engagements from user and focus groups to see how best we can tweak it, and make sure we get the most out of the centre.”
A fundraising campaign for the expansion will begin later this summer.
