Investigators with Ontario’s police watchdog have been brought in following an incident where a suspect was injured in custody.

The Special Investigations Unit says police were called to a home in the city around 7:00 a.m. on June 10th to a report of a domestic disturbance.

There officers attempted to arrest a 30 year old man for impaired driving when he fled the area on foot, which according to the S-I-U led to an interaction which resulted in the arrest of the man.

He was then taken to hospital for diagnosis and treatment of a serious injury.

No further details have been released.
