The legendary Canadian rock band Sloan and the acclaimed Acadian trio Les Hay Babies have been announced by the City of Moncton as headliners for this year’s Whoa Canada! celebrations.
Sloan, who formed in Halifax in 1991, have become one of Canada’s most beloved and enduring rock bands and have garnered a legion of fans across the country and beyond.
Known for their energetic live performances and catchy melodies, the Juno Award winning rock band are sure to get the crowd on their feet and singing along.
Les Hay Babies is a talented New Brunswick indie trio consisting of members Julie Aubé, Katrine Noël, and Vivianne Roy with a unique sound that blends elements of folk, pop, and rock.
The group has gained popularity both in Canada and internationally and their impressive accolades include a Canadian Folk Music Award and four East Coast Music Awards, cementing their place as a notable force in the music industry.
“We’re so excited to have Sloan and Les Hay Babies headlining our Canada Day celebrations this year,” said Mayor Dawn Arnold.
“Both of these bands are incredibly talented and have a real connection to the East Coast. It’s going to be an exceptional show.”
The Whoa Canada! festivities will take place on July 1st at Riverfront Park in downtown Moncton.
In addition to the music, there will be food vendors, family activities, and a tri-community fireworks display to cap off the evening.
