Mounties need help from the public as they investigate a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in Moncton.

Police say a pedestrian was struck at the corner of St. George Street and Cornhill Street around 10 p.m. on April 22.

The victim was taken to the hospital with what police said were believed to be serious injuries.

Investigators say the vehicle involved was a white-coloured four-door sedan with tinted windows.

The driver was described by witnesses as a man wearing a backwards ballcap with brown hair.

“The vehicle may have damage to the front end as a result of the collision,” RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
