United Way completes $1.7M fundraising campaign

By Brad Perry Mar 22, 2023 | 5:00 AM

United Way Saint John, Kings and Charlotte has reached its 2022 campaign goal.

Just over $1.7 million has been raised through the generosity of thousands of donors.

United Way will use that funding to support 21 local agencies in the communities it serves.

“It’s truly inspiring to see how our community rallied in support of the United Way and raised the funds needed for programs and services that will offer life-changing support to people right here in Saint John, Kings and Charlotte counties,” said campaign chair Cathy Lahey.

More than 4,400 people accessed services and programs funded by United Way last year, and they expect to help even more this year.

In addition, United Way will continue funding 211 New Brunswick, the information and referral service that connects people to critical human, social, community and government support.

It helps New Brunswickers navigate the complex network of government and community programs and services quickly to find what they need for their unique situation.
