The Mackay bridge has re-opened after a multi-vehicle collision this morning that has sent two to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The earlier closure also caused gridlock and traffic chaos in Halifax, as many were using the MacDonald bridge.

The crash on the bridge happened before 6 a.m. and although the harbour span has re-opened, HRP Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate.

According to tweets from Halifax Traffic, the Bedford Bypass is very icy as well as sidewalks.
