Nearly 200 jobs will be created in Halifax County to process leftover ore at the Touquoy gold mine.

The province says they have approved the work that will take 10 to 14 months and contribute about $150 million to the province’s GDP.

It will be done by Atlantic Mining Nova Scotia.

It was in 2023 when the site in Moose River stopped.

Cleanup at the site that started in 2024 will be paused while the work takes place.
