Some medical records held by Riverside Health Facilities have been breached.

The operator of hospitals and long-term care facilities in Fort Frances, Emo and Rainy River is pointing to a staff member as the reason.

It says the person was inappropriately accessing the electronic records.

It says no information was disclosed or used by the person, but it has been notifying patients and the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.

Riverside says it has taken steps to prevent any further inappropriate access.
