A Great White Shark was pinged just off the Cape Forchu lighthouse.

According to the OCEARCH Shark Tracker, ‘Rose’ was swimming in False Harbour on Friday morning,

She is a juvenile shark, measuring 10 foot five inches long.

Rose gets her name from Rose Bay, not far from where she was initially tagged in 2020 by the OCEARCH Expedition team.

A spokesperson for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans says it’s at the end of the season where we’d have white sharks in Canadian waters, and they are powerful marine predators.

If fishers encounter a Great White, DFO advises you give the animal its space.
