The Town of Digby are encouraging more affordable housing.

They’ve announced a grant program, in the hopes of new developments like duplexes, low rise apartments and secondary suits.

Mayor Mike Bartlett says access to housing is critical for the sustainability of the community.

It’s part of the Housing Accelerator Fund from the federal government.

The town received over $760,000 for its Housing Action Plan, with a target of 55 new units over the next three years.
