New Brunswick’s Opposition health critic says the Premier is not putting New Brunswickers first.

Bill Hogan is speaking out against the decision by the Holt government to end access to eVisitNB and transition it to another provider.

Hogan says eVisit has done over a million consults for 300,000 New Brunswickers over the past four years.

He adds that eVisitNB is a company founded in this province, and the future provider is Foundever, a European-headquartered company with its corporate office in Miami, Florida.

“I am urging New Brunswickers to contact Susan Holt, whether by email or on her social media channels and tell her not to sign this deal. Tell Susan Holt to keep our e-health care with eVisit and put New Brunswick first,” Hogan added in a statement.

Emails were recently sent to eVisitNB users informing them that the provincial virtual healthcare program will transition to the new provider effective April 1.

eVisitNB is expected to remain fully operational until March 31, 2026
