It may have been the Yarmouth Mariners best game of the season.

They beat Amherst 6-1 Friday night at home to end a four-game losing streak.

Goaltender Keegan Warren was first star of the game with 33 saves, winning his 40th career MHL start.

Defender Loic Mburanumwe scored his first goal at home this season.

He says it felt great to light the lamp.

“It felt amazing, it was my first goal here in about a year. I love being here, we have to keep this going, we were on a bit of a slump. We want to keep pushing and look forward to our next games,” said Mburanumwe of Montreal, Quebec.

Liam Dutcher, Noah Breau, Ewan Cleary, Ryker Rougeau and Owen O’Donnell also scored.

The Mariners are back in action on the road Thursday against Pictou County, then will host Truro Saturday and Valley on Heritage Day Monday.

They have 10 games left in their season, five of them are at home.
