New Brunswick’s Premier agrees with statements made by Prime Minister Mark Carney, “almost nothing is normal” right now with the United States.

“We don’t recognize our longtime friends and trading partners. For us, our family members, we have families that are on both sides of the border that run from New Brunswick all the way down to Louisiana, but we see what’s happening in the country,” Susan Holt said during a news conference in Ottawa yesterday.

She also confirmed that there are ICE agents on the border of New Brunswick and Calais, Maine.

“It makes all of us very uncomfortable,” Holt added.

“There’s nothing that we recognize in our neighbours right now with the leadership that they have, and we’re eager to support them in a return to the longstanding and strong partnership that Canada and the U.S. have had for generations.”
