A barn was destroyed in a fire Sunday afternoon in Lunenburg despite the efforts from the seven fire departments that were called in to assist.
Lunenburg Deputy Fire Cheif Dave Robb, says they received the call early in the afternoon and upon arriving shortly after to the property located on Northwest Road the fire was already fully involved.
“Our crews got on scene and immediately began to protect the house and extinguish the barn and make sure the people in the house were looked after safely,” Deputy Cheif Robb said.
No one in the house was injured nor were any firefighters during their efforts.
Deputy Cheif Robb says the barn was in active use, and they do not believe the fire to be suspicious.
The other departments called into assist Lunenburg included; Blockhouse, Oakhill, Mahone Bay, Conquerall Bank, Bridgewater, Riverport and Dayspring.
