A bit of a longer wait to check out the new Barrington RecPlex.

A soft-opening was planned for this week at the new $8.9 million facility on Sherose Island.

Due to ongoing construction delays and communication challenges, the open house will now start on January 26.

In a post, the municipality says they appreciate patience as they ensure everything is ready and safe for use.

The new add-on will feature a walking track and 4,000 square feet of multi-purpose rooms.

Construction on the facility began in the spring of 2024.
