Closures for Christmas in Greater Moncton

By Tara Clow Dec 24, 2025 | 10:27 AM

Shoppers will be out today picking up those last-minute items for Christmas.

Most stores will close earlier than normal, and they’ll stay closed until December 27, which includes grocery stores, department stores, malls and big-box stores.

Some pharmacies may stay closed for December 25, but most will reopen with reduced hours for Boxing Day, and that applies to restaurants as well.

NB Liquor and Cannabis NB stores are also closed for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and will reopen on Dec. 27.  Agent store hours may differ.

Banks, post offices, and all government offices are also closed on December 25 and 26.  There will also be no mail delivery.

Transit services will operate on reduced hours today, and services are suspended for Christmas Day.  Check schedules in advance for December 26.

If you are still unsure whether a store is open or not, you should call ahead.
