The Bayview Sharks are the 2025 Timber Cup champions.

They defeated the Auburn Eagles 3-2 in overtime in Sunday’s championship final at Mariners Centre in Yarmouth.

Forward Aiden Broderick scored the game-winning goal, and says the team enjoyed their time at the event.

“We worked hard all weekend, great win for the boys. It was amazing here in Yarmouth all weekend, the crowds were really into it. It felt amazing to get that OT goal,” said Broderick.

Bayview defeated NDA-Cape Breton Highlands-Cabot to reach Sunday’s final, it’s their record sixth Timber Cup trophy.

Auburn advanced by defeating Forest Heights.

The 10-team tournament was hosted by the Yarmouth High Vikings and Par-en-Bas Sharks.

Sharks head coach Julien Boudreau says things went well.

“We need to thank all the parents from PEB and Yarmouth, without them, this can’t happen. It allows our coaching staff to focus on coaching, things went very smooth,” said Boudreau.

Sales of seafood chowder dominated Friday and Saturday, how much was sold?

“It was a record, that’s for sure,” said Boudreau.

The Sharks and Vikings each finished outside the semifinal, PEB last won in 2022 while the Vikings haven’t won the trophy since 2011.

The Timber Cup began as the Cook’s Cup in 2007, and has become a December tradition in Yarmouth.

In Friday’s opening game, schools were invited, with hundreds of students in the stands cheering the Sharks and Clare Loups.
