The Hilton hotel on Saint John’s waterfront will drop the iconic branding in January.

According to a release from Unifor, which represents employees, ownership group InnVest Hotels will end its connection with the hotel.

But Unifor says it has been assured the hotel will continue to operate independently.

Meanwhile, Saint John Council approved the sale of the land the hotel sits on at Monday’s meeting.

The property will be sold to a numbered New Brunswick corporation that lists the Brunswick Square office tower as its address.
